Scott Large
Senior Vice President, Intelligence & Space Sector
As Senior Vice President and Director for the company’s Intelligence and Space Sector, Scott Large develops and provides mission critical solutions to the national and defense intelligence communities. His team is responsible for the delivery of intelligence and space system solutions to the national, defense and civil space enterprise.
Previously, Large served in the U.S. intelligence community for more than 23 years.
Most recently, Large was appointed by the Secretary of Defense as the 16th Director of the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) and Assistant to the Secretary of the Air Force (Intelligence Space Technology). In this role, Large led the NRO through a significant transformation by establishing the foundation to enable the efficient development, acquisition and operation of a single integrated space and ground architecture.
Large also served as Director, Source Operations and Management Directorate, at the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA) and the Associate Deputy Director for Science and Technology at the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) among his leadership roles at the NRO, NGA and the CIA.
Before joining the federal government, Large spent seven years in private industry, during which time he received three patents in fiber optics technology.
During his government tenure, Large was recognized for his service with such awards as the NRO Meritorious Service Medal, the NRO Superior Service Medal, the CIA Intelligence Commendation Medal, the CIA Director’s Award and the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency’s Medallion for Excellence, the NGA Distinguished Civilian Service Medal, the National Intelligence Distinguished Service Medal, and the Secretary of Defense Medal for Exceptional Service.
Large received a Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering in 1979 from the University of Central Florida, majoring in electro-optics and semiconductor devices.
